Interactive Alphabet Draggable Letters Resource

Click to use the Interactive Alphabet Resource

You're going to think of more examples to suit your own teaching style, but here are some examples teachers use the resource for:

  1. Consonant Vowel Consonant (CVC) word work on an interactive whiteboard.
  2. Alphabet work by jumbling the letters, and asking the pupils to arrange them.
  3. Working with dyslexics with this resource and testing for the identification of the letters 'p', 'q', 'b'.
  4. Word sounding.

Instructions

The resource is incredibly easy to use, and the simplicity increases the flexibility of the resource.

  1. To highlight the vowels, press the button at the top of the screen labelled 'vowels'.
  2. To copy and drag the letters down to the work area below, press the copy button, and drag a few letters below to the work area. You'll also notice a bin has appeared, so drag unwanted letters on it to delete them (I found pupils like 'cleaning' the board at the end of the lesson!).
  3. If there are a lot of letters to delete, you can just click on the bin to remove all the letters at once to then continue with new examples.
  4. Jumble and Reset buttons are fairly self-explantory, and I used them to time pupils ability of alphabet order.
  5. Hint: When the resource has loaded, find the 'view' menu at the top of the screen, and then click 'full screen'. This will give you a larger area to work with.
